He grew up in Tahlequah and has been around the furniture business his whole life. His father owns Baker's Furniture in Tahlequah. He graduated from Northeastern State University in May 2007 with a Bachelors of General Studies. He was also named NSU’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2007.
